DBU Showcases Youth-Led Civic Engagement at ‘Yuva Connect’ VC Meet Chaired by Punjab Governor

Mandi Gobindgarh, 2 Aug: Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, presented the university’s dynamic and inclusive youth engagement initiatives during the Yuva Connect video conference chaired by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.

As a part of the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program, Dr. Sadawarti highlighted DBU’s strong model for youth empowerment, civic engagement, and nation-building through a wide array of impactful programs:MY Bharat Registration Drive enrolling over 2,000 students, Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament with innovative reverse roles – villagers as MPs, students as bureaucrats, Debates and Yuva Samvad on themes such as clean politics and climate action, Nasha Mukt Campus Lab sensitizing 500+ students on drug abuse, Nyay Ki Pathshala, a legal literacy drive reaching 2,500+ rural residents, Vote Verse – Voter Awareness Carnival with EVM simulation and pledge wall, Screening of Sardar @150 followed by expert panel discussions, Mass Viksit Bharat Shapath for nation-building.

These activities were hosted in DBU’s smart tech-enabled Central Auditorium, accommodating over 800 participants.

Hon’ble Governor Shri Kataria commended Desh Bhagat University for its structured, scalable, and proactive approach to fostering youth-led change, civic responsibility, and alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. He urged all universities to replicate such best practices and ensure maximum registration on the My Bharat platform.
