Desh Bhagat Hospital Inaugurates Clinical Psychology OPD on Shaheedi Purab
Mandi Gobindgarh, December 26:To commemorate the Shaheedi Purab of Sahibzaada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, Sahibzaada Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Mata Gujri Ji, Desh Bhagat Hospital, a leading healthcare and diagnostic centre in the region, inaugurated a Clinical Psychology OPD at Desh Bhagat University. The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening DBU’s commitment to mental health care, academic excellence, and community service, in alignment with its RCI-approved Clinical Psychology programmes.
The OPD was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Dr. Tajinder Kaur (Pro-Chancellor, DBU) and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti (Vice Chancellor, DBU), in the presence of senior university and hospital officials, faculty members, and paramedical staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zora Singh stated that the Clinical Psychology OPD will enhance healthcare services and function as a Centre of Excellence in Mental Health, reflecting DBU’s holistic approach by integrating academic rigor with compassionate clinical care.
The OPD will offer services including psychological assessment, counselling and psychotherapy, stress and depression management, child and adolescent behavioural care, learning difficulties, family counselling, addiction counselling and career assessment.
The Clinical Psychology OPD will operate at Desh Bhagat Hospital from Monday to Saturday, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
