FDP on Sustainable Agricultural Practices Organized at Desh Bhagat University

Mandi Gobindgarh, March 12: The Agrim Club of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, under the aegis of the Publication Bureau at Desh Bhagat University, organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Climate Smart Agriculture and Sustainable Agricultural Practices.”

The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge of faculty members and participants about modern agricultural approaches to address climate change while ensuring sustainable productivity.

The session began with the formal welcome address by Dr. Avinash Kumar Bhatia. Prof. (Dr.) H. K. Sidhu, Director of Agriculture and Life Sciences, highlighted the importance of sustainable agricultural practices for long-term development.

The programme was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Amarjit Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, who emphasized the need for climate-resilient farming practices to tackle challenges such as climate change, soil degradation and water scarcity.

Resource persons Dr. Rajat Sharma and Ms. Shivangi Sood delivered insightful lectures on Climate Smart Agriculture and sustainable farming techniques, including crop diversification, efficient water management, organic farming, and integrated pest management.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion and certificates of appreciation were presented to the resource persons and participants by Prof. (Dr.) Amarjit Singh.
