Patiala News: ADC issues ban order for peaceful conduct of Municipal Council elections

The Municipal Council elections are scheduled to be held on May 26, in view of which Additional District Magistrate-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuprita Johal has issued some specific instructions to maintain law and order in the district and to conduct the election process successfully in a peaceful manner without any fear among the people.
At present, orders have been issued to the persons who have come to Patiala district from different districts/states to campaign for various political parties/independent candidates contesting elections to leave the limits of the villages concerned immediately after the end of the election campaign.

Additional District Magistrate Anuprita Johal, exercising the powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Act, 2023, has issued orders that persons coming from different states/districts who are not residents of this district nor have any connection with election duty shall ensure that they leave the limits of the election area immediately after the end of the election campaign.
In accordance with the above instructions and for the purpose of conducting the elections in a peaceful manner, this order is issued unilaterally. These orders will remain in force till the completion of the election process.
