-Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal interacts with students
-Students learn about the functioning of government offices and share their feedback
Under the unique initiative ‘Chetna Project’ launched by the Patiala District Administration, students of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Model Town, today visited the Deputy Commissioner’s Office as part of an educational exposure programme.
During the visit, the students had a special interaction with Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal. He said that the primary objective of the visit was to familiarize students with the functioning of government offices, the administrative system, and the working of various government departments.
Dr Aggarwal said that such exposure visits prove highly beneficial for students as they not only enhance their confidence but also help them understand governance and shape their future career aspirations. He held an interactive discussion with the students regarding their career goals, aspirations and concerns. He also assured them that the issues pertaining to their school, raised by the students and the Principal, would be addressed.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has significantly improved the quality of education in government schools through the Education Revolution initiative. In the same spirit, the Patiala District Administration is making sustained efforts to strengthen practical learning and career guidance through initiatives like the Chetna Project.
On the occasion, Dr Himanshu Aggarwal encouraged the students to visit and understand the functioning of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, DC Court, District Employment Office, Fard Centre, Sewa Kendra, Police Station and other government offices, and to share their observations and feedback. Appreciating the Chetna Project, the students also sought guidance from the Deputy Commissioner regarding CLAT, UPSC, medical studies and other competitive examinations. After this visit, students also gave their suggestions and feedback.
Deputy DEO Ravinderpal Singh, School Principal Rajesh Kumar and other teachers were also present during the visit.
