Under the ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2026’ Season-4 being organized by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with the aim of connecting the youth with sports and keeping them away from drugs, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal officially launched the sports portal at the District Administrative Complex, Patiala today.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that the Punjab government is organizing ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’ to channelize the energy of the youth and further strengthen the sports culture. He said that sports not only promote physical fitness, but also strengthen discipline, team spirit and mutual brotherhood.
Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that block level tournaments will be held in the 10 designated blocks of Patiala district from September 7 to September 16, 2026. He appealed to the players, youth and district residents to participate in these games as much as possible and get their registration done through the sports portal.
The Deputy Commissioner said that from 7th to 9th September 2026, the tournaments of Block Patiala Rural will be held at Physical College, at Polo Ground of Patiala Urban, at Government Ripudaman College of Nabha Block and at Government Stadium, Rajpura of Rajpura Block.
Similarly, from September 10 to 12, 2026, the tournament of Ghanaur Block will be held at University College, the tournament of Sanaur Block at Shaheed Udham Singh Stadium and the tournament of Shambhu Kalan Block at Mukhyamantri Khel Ground, Village Dhakansu.
He informed that from 14th to 16th September 2026, the Samana Block tournament will be held at Public College, Samana, the Patran Block tournament at the Chief Minister’s Sports Ground, Village Dedhana, and the Bhunrehri Block tournament will be held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Fatehpur.
Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that the district administration and the sports department are making necessary arrangements to conduct these games in a smooth and successful manner. He appealed to the youth to make sports a part of their daily lives and contribute towards the creation of a healthy and drug-free Punjab. District Sports Officer Navjot Singh Dhaliwal was also present on the occasion.
