Patiala News:Special Voter Registration Camp organized at Government (State) College of Education, Patiala

As per the guidelines of the Election Department, a special voter registration camp was organized at the local Government College of Education under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vanita Rani. Shri. Kundan Gogia, Mayor, Patiala attended the program as the chief guest. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vanita Rani, while welcoming the chief guest, appreciated the work being done by him for the development of the city and described him as a source of inspiration for the students. Mayor Shri. Kundan Gogia, while addressing the students, said that the youth are the backbone of the country and the youth have an important role in deciding the future of the country. He motivated all the youth to cast their vote and exercise their right to vote without any greed, fear or discrimination. Nodal Officer SWEEP Patiala (Urban) Shri. Rupinder Singh encouraged the youth to get registered to vote and to make their family and surrounding young voters vote for the strengthening of democracy. Asst. Prof. Jagdev Singh provided complete information to the young voters to fill Form-6 for making a new vote using the website and mobile apps of the Election Commission of India. On this occasion, a poster made by the students of Asst. Prof. Navneet Kaur Jaiji of the Fine Arts Department of the college regarding voter awareness was displayed. Amandeep Kaur and Gunavari Sial, students of B.Ed. Part II, gave a speech on the topic of “Rights of Voting”. A patriotic song prepared by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rekha Sharma of the Music Department was presented by the students. The stage was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Kuljit Kaur. All the students and staff of the college participated in this voter registration camp.
