Patiala News:State level award to Patiala district for excellent performance in blood donation services
Patiala, October 6 () Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh has honored Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Shelly Jaitley and District Nodal Officer Dr. Gurpreet Nagra for their excellent performance in blood donation and blood transfusion services. Punjab State Blood Transfusion Council/Blood Transfusion Services , Punjab has awarded District Patiala with a certificate of appreciation for Best Performing District – Maximum KPI Achievement based on E-Raktkosh data during the year 2025-26 .
This award was presented during the state-level National Voluntary Blood Donation Day function celebrated in Chandigarh on 5th October 2026. The citation appreciated the dedicated efforts being made by District Patiala to strengthen the life-saving services of blood transfusion. On this occasion, the Health Department said that this achievement is the result of the joint efforts of the Health Department officials , blood bank teams , staff , voluntary blood donors and various organizations. Regular voluntary blood donation helps significantly in providing timely blood and its organs to the needy patients.
The Health Department thanked all the blood donors, health workers and organizations associated with the blood donation campaign for this proud achievement and appealed to the people to come forward to donate blood voluntarily. This award will serve as a source of inspiration to further strengthen the blood transfusion services of Patiala district and provide better health services in the future as well.
