Punjab’s Minister for Power, Rural Development and Panchayat, Labour, Hospitality and Tourism and Cultural Affairs S. Tarunpreet Singh Saund has said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has shown his true son of Punjab by taking many historic initiatives for the welfare of Punjab and Punjabis during the last four and a half years. S. Saund had arrived at Dittupur Jattan village near Bhadson this evening to attend the 58th annual three-day Tiwana Sports Festival as the chief guest. On this occasion, senior AAP leader Karanvir Singh Tiwana and Chairman of Market Committee Nabha Gurdeep Singh Tiwana were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Cabinet Minister S. Tarunpreet Singh Saund said that the opponents are not tolerating the popularity of S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, due to which they are adopting crude tactics to defame the Chief Minister. He said that today, the only people who are making statements against the popular Chief Minister are those who, during his tenure, pushed the youth of Punjab towards drugs and did not take any concrete steps for the betterment of the farmers.
Encouraging the Kabaddi players on this occasion, Mr. Saund said that the Punjab government has kept a budget of Rs. 1500 crore for the construction of 3100 playgrounds in the state. He said that through these playgrounds and ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’, the youth are being connected with sports and kept away from drugs. He said that to save the farmers of the state, the waters of Punjab are being protected and efforts are being made to provide canal water to every farm to prevent our land from becoming barren.
He further said that Punjab is currently moving forward on the path of progress and the state government is continuously working to provide better opportunities in Punjab itself by preventing the youth from going abroad. He said that the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign is showing good results. He appealed to the people to be aware of the false propaganda being spread by the opposition parties and contribute to the progress of Punjab.
During the event, Gurminder Singh Tiwana, Navdeep Singh Tiwana, Manpreet Singh Nagra, Prabhjit Singh Lote, Rajvir Singh Tiwana, Nirbhay Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Jasvir Singh Bhangu, Mandeep Singh Numberdar, Gagandeep Singh Hiana, Sarpanch Jagdeep Singh Dhangera, Sarpanch Gurpreet Singh Pedhani, Jasvir Singh Bhangu, Avtar Singh Lang, Mandeep Singh Hiana, Manjit Singh Dandrala, members of the Tiwana Sports and Youth Welfare Club, Gram Panchayat and a large number of villagers and residents of the area were present.
