Patiala News:Training workshop for enumerators and supervisors regarding the second phase of Census-2027 (Population Enumeration) in Patiala district
Trainings for Census 2027 for enumerators and supervisors at charge level (6 Tehsils and 5 Nagar Kaushals and 4 Nagar Panchayats) regarding the second phase (population census) of Census-2027 have started in district Patiala. These trainings are to be conducted from 05.10.2026 to 10.11.2026 as per Census Circular No. 27. These trainings have started under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer, Patiala Dr. Himanshu Agarwal (IAS). Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development)-cum-District Census Officer Damanjit Singh Mann (PCS) is the Census Nodal Officer in district Patiala. Trainings are being imparted to about 3300 enumerators and supervisors including reserve staff in 6 tehsils, 5 Nagar Kaushals and 4 Nagar Panchayats by 58 field trainers trained at the district level. These trainings are being monitored by Aman Kumar Balihar, District Coordinator, Sensing Operation Department Punjab Chandigarh, Nishu Sharma, Master Trainer Patiala and Assistant Research Officer-cum-Additional District Sensing Officer, Patiala Jaswinder Kaur and Sensing Cell Team at the charge level.
In the second phase of Census-2027, these enumerators will conduct a door-to-door population census from December 1, 2026 to January 4, 2027, and 40 questions will be asked to the citizens.
These supervisors and enumerators are being provided with detailed information, practical demos and exercises on various important topics related to the second phase of Census-2027 during the training program at the Tehsil/Charge level.
In Patiala district, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development)-cum-District Census Officer of the Census-2027 informed that the initiative has been taken as the work of ‘Self Enumeration’ in this census. In which any citizen can do the enumeration of his house himself from 16th November 2026 to 30th November 2026 and appealed to the residents of Patiala district to contribute maximum in the work of ‘Self Enumeration’. The second phase of the census will be started from 01st December 2026 to 04th January 2027 as the population census, in which the enumerators will go door to door to do the population enumeration and 40 questions will be asked to the citizens. The Honorable Deputy Commissioner and the Honorable Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Patiala appealed to all the citizens of the district to fully cooperate in this work of census being conducted by the Government of India. During the monitoring of the Sensing training, Deputy Economics and Statistics Advisor Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Aman Kumar Balihar, District Coordinator, Sensing Cell Team Narinder Kumar, Clerk (Accounts), Bikramjit Singh Investigator, Kulinderjit Singh, Hemant Kumar Investigator were present at Tehsil Patiala.
