Desh Bhagat University Hosts Global Congress on Clinical Diagnostics & Healthcare Sciences
Mandi Gobindgarh, March 19: The Faculty of Allied & Healthcare Sciences at Desh Bhagat University successfully organized a three-day World Congress on Advanced Clinical Diagnostics & Healthcare Sciences – 2026, in collaboration with Centre for Research & Innovative Scientific Studies (CRIS), Dehradun, under the aegis of the Microbiology Society of India.
The congress was inaugurated by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, and Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, marking the commencement of a globally aligned academic platform aimed at fostering innovation and interdisciplinary excellence in healthcare sciences.
The event featured advanced hands-on training in molecular diagnostics, along with scientific oral and poster presentations, offering students valuable exposure to research methodologies. Special emphasis was placed on life-saving skills training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), cancer awareness initiatives, and an applied workshop on ergonomics and postural correction to prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
A major highlight of the congress was the National Excellence Awards Ceremony, conducted under the aegis of the Microbiology Society of India. Distinguished academicians were honoured following a rigorous evaluation of their research credentials, academic achievements, and professional contributions, reinforcing merit-based global standards in scientific recognition.
The congress also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CRIS DNA Labs, Dehradun, in the presence of eminent representatives, including Dr. Narotam Sharma, Dr. Ankita, Dr. Hina Ruhela, and Vipin Nautiyal. This collaboration aims to strengthen academia–industry linkages and enhance skill-based training in molecular diagnostics.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by the Dr Tajinder Kaur Pro-Chancellor and the Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, during which winners of oral and poster presentations were awarded medals and certificates. Workshop participants and attendees were also felicitated. The Faculty Excellence Award was conferred upon the Faculty of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, reflecting the university’s commitment to quality education and research.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Arti Thakur, Administrative In-charge, Faculty of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, DBU, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, collaborators, participants, and organizing members for making the congress a resounding success.
