Renowned Scientist Prof. Anil K. Sharma Highlights Pathways to High-Impact Research at DBU

Mandi Gobindgarh, March 23: Global research icon Prof. Anil K. Sharma delivered a distinguished talk at Desh Bhagat University, inspiring students and researchers with his insights on academic excellence and scientific integrity. The talk, titled “From a Curious Mind to an Influential Scientist: Strategies for Impactful Research,” attracted a full audience of scholars and faculty members.
Currently serving as Dean of Research & Development at Amity University Punjab, Prof. Sharma addressed the growing problem of predatory publishing, guiding researchers on identifying high-impact journals and avoiding cloned publications. He demonstrated citation tools and journal verification platforms to help scholars protect their research work.
Drawing from his distinguished career of over 12,000 citations, h-index 51, more than 360 publications, and a cumulative impact factor exceeding 1285, Prof. Sharma shared insights from his pioneering research on psoriasis and breast cancer. He has been ranked among the world’s top 2% highly cited researchers for five consecutive years by Stanford University.
The event was graced by the presence of Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and Vice Chancellor Prof. Harsh Sadawarti, along with senior academic leadership.
A Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and the Royal Society of Chemistry, Prof. Sharma holds 23 patents and has authored 19 books. His journey from Senior Research Scientist at the University of Illinois at Chicago to a global biotechnology leader served as a powerful blueprint for aspiring Indian scientists.
