Desh Bhagat University Hosts International Seminar on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Hospitality
Mandi Gobindgarh,31 March: Desh Bhagat University, School of Hotel Management & Tourism, organized a One Day International Seminar on “From Skills to Startups: Innovation and Entrepreneurial Pathways in Hospitality”. The seminar aimed to provide insights into innovation-driven entrepreneurship and skill development in the hospitality industry.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Varinder Singh Rana, Deputy Director–Research and Department Chair of Hospitality and Hotel Management at City University Ajman, United Arab Emirates. In his session, Dr. Rana emphasized how hospitality professionals can transform their technical skills into successful entrepreneurial ventures. He highlighted the growing importance of innovation, creativity, adaptability, and strategic thinking in building sustainable startups in today’s competitive hospitality landscape.
The seminar was graced by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, who appreciated the department’s efforts and motivated students to explore entrepreneurship and innovation. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Aman Sharma, with the support of the organizing team including Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Mr. Gurkiran Singh, Ms. Nivedita, and Ms. Srishti.
