Desh Bhagat University Organizes Workshop on “Working with AI: Practical Skills for Professionals and Students”

Mandi Gobindgarh, 1 April: The Department of Business Management and Commerce, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Desh Bhagat University, organized a one-day workshop on “Working with AI: Practical Skills for Professionals and Students.” The workshop aimed to provide participants with essential knowledge and hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence.

The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Tavneet K. Reen, who highlighted the importance of AI in modern business practices and the need for students to stay updated with emerging technologies. The workshop was graced by the presence of eminent dignitaries including Dr. G.S. Batra, Pro Vice Chancellor, Research and Development Cell. Dr. Buta Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Research Innovation and Consultancy, Dr. Gurwinder Pal Singh, Assistant Dean Academics, Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Director, Department of Business Management and Commerce, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Convener, IIC, DBU and Dr. Baldeep Singh, Department Coordinator IIC, DBU.

Dr. Ripudaman Singh, Assistant Professor, Chitkara School of Mass Communication, Chitkara University, delivered the keynote address and shared valuable insights on the practical use of AI tools. He emphasized that AI is a powerful assistant that enhances productivity, creativity and decision-making and also highlighted the importance of ethical and responsible use of AI.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students, featuring interactive sessions and practical demonstrations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gurwinder Pal Singh, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, dignitaries, and organizers for making the workshop a success.
