Patiala News:Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched the second phase of ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ in Patiala by personally sweeping Jail Road.

Under the second phase of ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ launched by the Punjab Government, the state-level garbage collection drive was led by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh in Patiala today. On this occasion, he called upon the people of Patiala and Punjab to make cleanliness a part of their daily lives and actively cooperate in keeping the state clean.
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh personally swept the Jail Road from Thapar Institute this morning and launched the second phase of ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ in Patiala. On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Mayor Kundan Gogia, high officials, city residents and representatives of social service organizations were also present.
Dr. Balbir Singh termed ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ as another important step towards a clean Punjab and said that making Punjab clean and beautiful is not only the responsibility of the government or the sanitation workers but the joint responsibility of every citizen. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the Punjab government in keeping their cities and villages clean and to segregate wet and dry waste in their homes and give it to the garbage collectors.
The Health Minister said that the main objective of this 10-day campaign, which will run from August 29 to September 7 under the ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ launched by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is to make cities and villages cleaner and more beautiful by cleaning garbage dumps.
He appealed to the people not to consider cleanliness as just a campaign but to make it their daily responsibility. He said that every citizen must contribute to make this initiative of Bhagwant Mann government a success.
Dr. Balbir Singh praised the ‘Mera Patiala, Main Hi Sanwaran’ organization and thanked its members for their contribution in the cleanliness drive. During this, the sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation, trainees of Punjab Jail Training School and the residents of Patiala actively participated in the state-level garbage cleaning drive.
Senior Deputy Mayor Harinder Kohli, Deputy Mayor Jagdeep Singh Jagga, ADC (Urban Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Additional Commissioner Simarpreet Kaur, Councilor Jasvir Singh Gandhi, Colonel JV, Charanjit Singh SK, Jatinder Kaur, Bhupinder Singh Lambardar, Mandeep Singh Virdi, Sumit Bhandari, Harish Kumar, Harinderpal Lamba, Captain Sukhjit Kaur and Punjab Pollution Control Board Executive Engineer Gurkaran Singh along with other officers of the Municipal Corporation and representatives of social service organizations were present on the occasion.
