Patiala News:Complete ban on sale, storage and use of China doors in Patiala district

Additional District Magistrate Patiala Anuprita Johal, in exercise of powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023, has issued orders prohibiting the sale, storage and use of synthetic/plastic/harmful material made rope (China rope) in Patiala district. These orders will remain in force till 07 October 2026.

According to the orders, it has been brought to the notice of the Home Affairs and Justice Department of the Punjab Government that the China string used in large quantities for flying kites/dolls, which is made of synthetic/plastic and is very strong, non-degradable and non-breakable. Due to the use of this string, incidents of cutting hands/fingers, cutting necks and ears of bicycle and scooter/motorcycle drivers occur and in such a situation there is also a fear of accidents.

Apart from this, the environment is also polluted due to the death of birds trapped in China wire and their hanging on trees. This synthetic/plastic wire (China wire) when used for flying kites proves to be fatal for human lives and birds. Keeping these facts in mind, the Additional District Magistrate Patiala has issued orders for a complete ban on the sale, storage and use of synthetic/plastic wire (China wire).
