*The Centre tried every possible way to create obstacles for Punjab, but CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s honest government continued the welfare schemes continuously: Baltej Pannu*
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab media in-charge Baltej Pannu on Monday said that the BJP, which is unable to compete politically with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is now resorting to backdoor tactics to target him before the elections. The AAP Punjab media in-charge confirmed that the CBI and ED action against the Bhagwant Mann government team is part of the same pattern of using central agencies to target elected governments before the elections, as seen in Delhi. He asserted that the BJP has failed to find anything against Punjab’s most honest Chief Minister.
The media in-charge of AAP Punjab said that despite every possible attempt by the Center to create obstacles for Punjab, the government led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has been delivering welfare schemes to the people, while Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the Punjab government will challenge the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the Supreme Court.
In a statement, AAP Punjab media in-charge Baltej Pannu said, “BJP is conspiring to defame CM Bhagwant Singh Mann before the elections. BJP cannot compete politically with the Punjab Chief Minister, so it is trying to target him through the back door. The CBI-ED action against the Punjab government team is part of the same pattern of targeting elected governments before the elections, as happened in Delhi. BJP has failed to find anything against the most honest Chief Minister of Punjab and as a result is adopting such tactics to target CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.”
AAP Punjab’s media in-charge said that the Centre does not want the people of Punjab to continue getting the facilities being provided by the CM Bhagwant Singh Mann government, and has tried to create obstacles through the withheld funds of the state. He said, “Whether it is 600 units of free electricity, daytime power supply for farmers, providing canal water to about 83% of agricultural land, cashless healthcare treatment of Rs 10 lakh or providing financial assistance in the bank accounts of women, the Bhagwant Mann government is working continuously.”
AAP Punjab’s media in-charge said that despite the Centre stopping Punjab’s funds, including those related to flood relief, the state government has managed its resources efficiently and continued public welfare works. He said, “The honest government led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has not only continued these schemes through its own resources but has also run them in a better manner.”
He said that the Centre’s concern is that as long as the people of Punjab continue to get these benefits, the political narrative being created against the Bhagwant Mann government will not succeed. He said, “This is the reason why the team working with CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is being targeted in some way or the other.”
He pointed out that this was not an isolated incident and alleged that similar tactics were used by the central government in states where elections were near. He said, “Wherever elections are held, the same tactics are adopted by the centre. The names and cases may be different, but the method remains the same.”
