-Instructions to the officers of the concerned departments to complete the pending development works within the stipulated time frame.
– Members were asked to identify the works in the villages of their respective zones and prepare proposals for the development works to be done under the 16th Finance Commission.
A special meeting of the Zila Parishad Patiala House was held under the chairmanship of Zila Parishad Chairman Gurdev Singh Tiwana.
Chairman Tiwana said that during the meeting, the schemes being run by various departments were reviewed. Along with this, the development works to be carried out by the Zila Parishad Patiala with the grant received under the 15th Finance Commission were also specially reviewed. He said that instructions were issued to the officers of the concerned departments to complete the development works which are yet to be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Chairman Gurdev Singh Tiwana asked all the Zila Parishad members that in view of the grant that the district will receive under the 16th Finance Commission in the future, they should identify the development works to be carried out in the villages under their respective zones and prepare their proposals in advance, so that when the funds are available, the grant can be released for the relevant works without any delay.
Apart from the members of the Zila Parishad, Aam Aadmi Party District President and Chairman of the Improvement Trust Harpal Singh Virk, Vice Chairperson Binder Kaur, Chairman of Block Samiti Bhunarheri Charanjit Singh, Chairman of Rajpura Balwinder Singh, Chairman of Patiala Rural Block Samiti Gurvinder Singh, Chairperson of Block Samiti Patran Paramjit Kaur, Chairperson of Block Samiti Ghanaur Gurdeep Kaur and Chairperson of Block Samiti Patiala Sarabjit Kaur were present during the meeting. On this occasion, officials of various departments including Deputy CEO of Zila Parishad Amandeep Kaur were also present.
