270 grams of heroin, Rs 2 lakh drug money and Ciaz car recovered
Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Harmandeep Singh Hans said that under the directions of Director General of Police, Punjab Gaurav Yadav, under the “War Against Drugs” campaign, success was achieved when the team including SP Investigation Rajesh Chhibber and DSP Investigation Gurvir Singh Gill, Simarjit Singh Sergill in-charge CIA Patiala, arrested the heroin supplier Rohit Kumar Gagat son of Rajpal resident of New Bishan Nagar police station Lahori Gate Patiala and Vinod Kumar alias Ganja son of Kisori Lal resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony Banna, Bishan Nagar police station Lahori Gate Patiala in a Siaz car number PB11DP-2870 and arrested 270 grams of heroin along with Rs 2 lakh drug money from their possession.
Arrest and Recovery: Mr. Harmandeep Singh Hans stated that on 15.10.2026, ASI. Tejinder Singh CIA Patiala along with the police party was present at the old bus stand in search of suspicious and bad men where the police party received secret information that Rohit Kumar Gagat and Vinod Kumar alias Ganja who were coming together to deliver heroin (white) to their customers by boarding the Siaj vehicle PB-11DP-2870. During this, Rohit Kumar Gagat and Vinod Kumar alias Ganja were arrested on the Siaj vehicle during the blockade. 270 grams of heroin and Rs. 2 lakh drug money were recovered from them. On this, a case No. 194 dated 02.11.2026 under Section 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused at the Lahori Gate police station and he was arrested.
Criminal Background: During the investigation, it came to light that against Desiyan Uktan Rohit Kumar Gagat, there are about 8 cases registered in different police stations of Patiala district under the NDPS Act and Local and Special Law, on which he has been jailed many times and has been sentenced in 2 cases and 2 cases are also registered against his accomplice Vinod Kumar alias Ganja. Rohit Kumar Gagat and accomplice Vinod Kumar alias Ganja have been doing business of selling heroin (white) for the last 6-7 months.
SSP Patiala said that Dosian Uktan will be produced in the honorable court today, police remand will be obtained and Dosian will be questioned in depth about the recovered heroin and Rs 2 lakh drug money, and will be questioned in depth about his previous and current relationships, to which person this Dosian used to supply heroin and from which person he used to bring it.
