Under the campaign “Mission Clean Punjab” launched by the Punjab Government, the Municipal Corporation Patiala again cleaned the city under a special ‘garbage collection campaign’ today. Even on Sunday, a holiday, the Municipal Corporation Mayor Kundan Gogia, Tejinder Mehta Chairman District Planning Committee, the entire team of “Mera Patiala Main Hi Sawaran”, Navdeep Sharma Chief Sanitation Officer and the Municipal team cleaned the entire route from Malhotra Sweets at Sanauri Ade to Bhootnath Ji Temple. It is a matter of happiness that a large number of city residents are also actively participating in this campaign.
During the campaign, solid waste, debris, and tree and plant debris from roadsides, dividers, and vacant lots were immediately removed using tractor-trolleys and electric vehicles and transported to appropriate locations.
On this occasion, Mayor Kundan Gogia said that this 10-day campaign to make the city garbage-free will continue continuously till September 8 as per the route plan. He said that the Municipal Corporation is working day and night to make the city garbage-free and pollution-free. Along with the government efforts, when common citizens, social service organizations and public representatives come forward and join hands, then any campaign becomes a big success.
The Mayor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the social organizations and all the city residents and appealed to the city residents not to throw garbage on the roads and public places, to separate wet and dry garbage and put it in the corporation vehicles, and to actively contribute to ‘Mission Clean Punjab’ by always keeping their surroundings clean.
