Patiala News:MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori inaugurates 70th District-Level Badminton Tournament at Aditya Badminton Academy

The 70th District-Level Badminton Tournament commenced today at the Aditya Badminton Academy in Patiala. MLA from Mehal Kalan and Chairman of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Privileges Committee, Kulwant Singh Pandori, along with Punjab Grappling Wrestling Director Yograj Sharma Shaili, attended the inaugural ceremony as special guests.
A great deal of enthusiasm was witnessed among the players during the opening ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is making continuous efforts to promote sports and encourage players across the state.
He said that modern sports facilities at par with those available in cities are also being developed in villages, while excellent playgrounds and sports infrastructure have been created across Punjab. These initiatives, he added, are aimed at providing better opportunities to rural youth to nurture and showcase their sporting talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Yograj Sharma Shaili said that the Punjab Government is making concerted efforts to connect children and youth with sports and keep them away from drugs. He informed that the badminton tournament will continue till September 2 and competitions will be held in different categories for both boys and girls.
Appreciating MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori, Yograj Sharma Shaili said that Pandori personally played with the players on the ground and encouraged the children and youth, sending out an inspiring message to young sportspersons. He said that Kulwant Singh Pandori is not only the MLA from Mehal Kalan but also remains at the forefront in encouraging and supporting the youth and sportspersons of Punjab.
Shaili further said that MLA Pandori continuously extends support to players and takes special care of their needs, particularly the diet and other requirements of wrestlers and para-athletes.
Among those present on the occasion were Block Samiti Member Davinder Singh, Punjab Water Supply Director Davinder Badesha, Yadvinder Singh, Grappling Committee Punjab Director Ranjit Singh and Satnam Singh Satta, MD, Aditya Badminton Champions Club, besides a large number of players.
